Our History
Florida Youth Maritime Training provides approved American Boat and Yacht Council “Introduction to Marine Service Technology” training. We are an ABYC Affiliate School. Successful graduates receive a certificate from the American Boat and Yacht Council as a marine service technician. We also offer training for graduates of that course to become commercial fishermen, merchant mariners as Qualified Members of the Engineering Department Or deckhands

Florida Youth Maritime Training has been providing a career pathway for merchant mariners since March 2019. In 2021, we trained 36 people and have 31 of them employed with an average annual starting salary of $36,250.00. Our most successful graduate is a black female currently working as a Designated Duty Engineer and earning $130,000.00 anually

Our training locations are in Jacksonville and Ft. Pierce FL. Our training is experiential and is blended with on-line and in person sessions. Our basic course is 10 weeks. We do provide job placement assistance. Contact us if you would like more information.
